The BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management is delivered over 52 weeks/12 months face to face which includes 12 units of study.

The face to face training component has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to manage all aspects of a business.

  • Entry requirements are in place to make sure that students who gain entry to these courses have the skills and abilities they require in order to successfully complete their studies.
  • Students need be 18 year and older and have completed year 12.
  • Student visa applicants under the age of 18 and who have completed year 12 will be accepted where they demonstrate that they will be accompanied by a parent, legal custodian or a suitable relative who is aged 21 or over, and they will turn 18 before their course commences.   • International students whose first language is not English will be tested prior to the commencement of Vocational Education and Training Courses.
  • Educare requires an IELTS 5.5 with no band less than 5, or equivalent (as determined by Educare College Australia) or satisfactory completion of 12 weeks of General English with one of our English education partners.
  • For international student who are not confident in meeting our Literacy and numeracy skills, we request that you contact us to discuss additional pathways you may undertake first to achieve our basic entry requirements.
  • Before students undertake work placement blocks, they must ensure they hold Police Clearance and required blue Card

Teaching and Delivery Modes for Students

At Educare key objectives are to ensure that the core focus of your learning experience is based on the practical applications of your study. Therefore, we support you by providing learning materials which are utilised during most of the following delivery modes such as:

  • Face to face facilitation and roleplays

  • Independent learning/simulated sessions

  • Group based workshops and discussions

Face to Face /Class and on the Job Work Placement

International students must attend face to face in person for classroom full time sessions. Classroom lessons contact times will be min 20 hours each week. Lessons will be conducted in both theory and practical modes. Trainers may decide depending on the students’ knowledge and skills that are required to achieve competencies in their tasks, to interlace some theoretical information delivered during practical sessions. Most theoretical subjects will contain other modes such as role plays/PowerPoint presentations/videos/ and other interactive methods as required.

Competency-based Assessments

Certain competencies may also be assessed during work placement if required. The assessment is conducted by your assigned Trainer & Assessor from Educare who will evaluate your knowledge, skills and performance against the required workplace criteria to assess your competency in that specific area/unit. Manual Handling will form part of your practical assessment and will be conducted on campus first before your first block of work placement hours.

You will be provided a list of methods you will be assessed with in your Training Plan and Assessment strategy document in your orientation and induction week. Your assessor will address these in more detail during teaching times.

 

Resources Needed

You will have access to our online learning system. You must have your own (laptop) computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software are required by all students to successfully undertake their study with Educare.
